Maximino Gonzalez, 84, of Erie, died Mon., April 30, 2012 at his residence.  He was born Nov. 12, 1927 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, son of the late Andres Miranda Mercado and Bibiana Gonzalez Rodriguez.  After moving to the U.S. in 1951, he went to work for Norfolk & Western Railroad where he was employed for 34 years.  He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
     He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Martha E. Post Gonzalez, in 2011 and a son, Terrance L. Gonzalez.
     Survivors include two daughters, Guila Bennett and husband Richard and Martha Murray and husband Otis, all of Erie; three sons, Maxie Gonzalez, James Gonzalez and wife Wendy, and Anthony Dovishak, all of Erie; and numerous brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one soon-to-be great-great-granddaughter.
     Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Thursday 2 to 4 p.m and 7 p.m. until time of service there at 8 p.m.  The Rev. James Gutting will officiate.
